Preposition वह शब्द या शब्दों का समूह है जो किसी Noun या Pronoun के साथ प्रयोग किया जाता है और जो उस Noun या Pronoun का सम्बन्ध किसी दूसरे शब्द से प्रदर्शित करता है.

The farmer is in the field. यहाँ दो noun farmer और field के बीच सम्बन्ध को in शब्द से प्रकट किया गया है.
She is fond of milk. इस वाक्य में of का उपयोग adjective fond द्वारा व्यक्त गुण और milk के सम्बन्ध को प्रकट करता है.
The mouse jumped into the pot. यहाँ पर into से verb jumped द्वारा होने वाले कार्य और pot के सम्बन्ध को प्रकट किया गया है.
